Money

So... It really has been an issue this year. Money.

Losing money to the Police:
I have so far gotten four tickets in my life involving the car my parents so graciously allow me to drive (well, mostly park) around University and sadly all of them have been this school year. I got out of one because it was just the stupid University Police being stupid by giving me a loading zone ticket while parked in a 30 minute parking spot for 20 minutes. Two have since been paid for (One a large Snow Emergency fine and towing charge that was ludicrous and the other a minor parking on private property fine). And the final ticket I just received tonight and have court in a month. It seems my parents have forgotten to renew the registration for the car they so kindly allow me to drive... (they better not be expecting me to pay for this... the car isn't exactly real classy).

What I can't believe is the cop took the time to run my plates, but didn't bother to go after the car that was speeding by me... I'm glad the local law enforcement have their priorities straight.

Grand total to Police if the current ticket doesn't get dropped in court: ~$296
Yay for Iowa City making money off of me...

Losing money because of my Roommate:
Well, if you have ever talked to me in person their is a good chance I have complained about my roommate. I just generally can't handle living with people. I don't know. I like things done a certain way and I am very frugal with things.

My roommate (D) is not all that frugal... She always turns the heat up... When I left for winter break and wasn't there to turn the heat back down, the bill went up $10 for the month. I was only gone for 2 weeks.

D also insisted on getting cable... I really didn't care but then come to find out it would cost me around $50 a month when we get basic cable for free, it really irked me. So now our utilities run around $80+ a month. I don't even want to know how much they will go back up when the air is gonna get turned on...

Also along with the bills thing, D can't handle paying for part of the bills. She can't have me right a check to her for my half. I have to pay them. She has to write a check to me every month, and then I have to mail them off. Luckily I am not an idiot and pay the ones I can online.

There are other things she does that piss me off, like always watching TV, but they generally don't cost me money and I will bitch about them at another time.

Average loss: ~$30/month = total of ~$210 with 5 months of utilities left (~$360)

Total loss for this school year: $654

Loss due to Me:
Not to mention, I am an impulsive buyer. When I worked at Wal-mart (it was only about 4 months). I worked all the time and made a decent amount of money. Well, I pretty much blew it all on entertainment things I barely use. (I bought a few wii games: wii fit, fit+, sports resort). I also got a nice new TV, and a Tivo with a years subscription (I actually do use the tivo though). However, I don't hardly play the wii. I really should sell it, but as soon as I do, I will want to play it, because thats how I am.

I don't know, I am beginning to think I am not meant to have money. Anytime I have any something always goes down and I no longer have money.

Well, I am leaving on Spring Break on Wednesday morning to South Dakota with my AFROTC Detachment. So other than food its a free 12 hour bus ride with free lodging. The government is kind enough to supply this for me. But, I will probably blow some money at the base BX at Ellsworth... and some of the sites. Good bye June's rent as well as July's....

Thank God for my family or I would be in so much debt right now.
